The Consultants Exchange (now known as CXC Global) was founded in Sydney, Australia in 1992 by the current chairman of the board of directors, Dave Thomas.

Dave was an independent contractor himself, and his vision for Consultants Exchange was the purpose of providing high quality, legal and ethical contractor management services to independent contractors, and the agencies and clients they served. The business grew quickly until the late 1990's when, driven by changes to tax and migration law, CXC Global became the leading contractor management company in Australia. In 1999, CXC Global was established in the Uk and New Zealand, thus launching the CXC Global network which now includes operations in 45 countries with a global turnover of $400m.
